The Department of Health Research (DHR), under the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, is currently inviting applications for multiple Scientist positions on a Deputation (including short-term contract) basis. The DHR was established to facilitate a robust health research system in India and administers the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR). These roles offer a dynamic opportunity to contribute to health research and development on a national level.
Available Positions:
- Scientist C (4 Posts)
- Pay Scale: Level 11 in the Pay Matrix (Rs. 67,700 – Rs. 2,08,700)
- Age Limit: Not exceeding 56 years
- Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Medicine or Surgery recognized by the Medical Council of India, or a postgraduate degree in related subjects such as Biochemistry, Pharmacology, Microbiology, Genetics, and more.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in Research, Development, or Teaching.
- Scientist D (4 Posts)
- Pay Scale: Level 12 in the Pay Matrix (Rs. 78,800 – Rs. 2,09,200)
- Age Limit: Not exceeding 56 years
- Qualifications:
- Doctor of Medicine, Master of Surgery, or equivalent degree, or Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Microbiology, Genetics, or related subjects.
- A minimum of 5 years of research experience in public sector/government-recognized institutions.
- Scientist E (2 Posts)
- Pay Scale: Level 13 in the Pay Matrix (Rs. 1,23,100 – Rs. 2,15,900)
- Age Limit: Not exceeding 56 years
- Qualifications:
- Doctor of Medicine, Master of Surgery, or equivalent degree, or Ph.D. in relevant fields.
- 7 years of research experience in recognized institutions.
Responsibilities in Job:
As a Scientist, you will be involved in:
- Conducting advanced research in public health and related areas.
- Teaching and mentoring junior researchers.
- Collaborating with government bodies, public health organizations, and universities.
- Contributing to the policy-making and research strategy for health advancements.
Qualifications & Skills Required:
- Education: A degree in Medicine (MBBS), a Master’s or Doctoral degree in Biochemistry, Pharmacology, Microbiology, Biotechnology, and related fields.
- Experience: Candidates should have a solid background in research, teaching, or working within government or recognized research institutions.
- Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication skills for both research presentation and collaboration.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Leadership skills for managing research projects and mentoring staff.
