Responsibilities in the Job: The Scientist I, Cell Biology position offers an exciting opportunity to work as part of Thermo Fisher Scientific’s Cell Culture team within the Research and Development division. As a critical team member, you will be involved in the following key responsibilities:
- Cell Culture Management: You will be responsible for the aseptic expansion and maintenance of mammalian cancer cell lines, primary cells, and immortalized cell lines. Additionally, you will be responsible for accurately cryopreserving cells.
- Experimental Procedures: The role requires you to conduct pharmacological stimulation and inhibition on cell lines, prepare cell lysates, buffers, and media for various assays, including Western blot, immunoprecipitation, and immunofluorescence testing.
- Data Recording and Monitoring: Regular monitoring of cell health and maintaining detailed records in data sheets or electronic notebooks. Ensuring the integrity and accuracy of all experimental data.
- Experiment Planning and Technical Writing: You will need to plan and execute experiments with precision and contribute to technical writing, presenting findings and results effectively.
Qualifications: To be considered for the position of Scientist I, Cell Biology at Thermo Fisher Scientific, candidates must meet the following qualifications:
- Educational Requirements: A Master’s degree (M.Sc.) in Cell Biology, Biotechnology, Genetics, or related Life Sciences fields.
- Experience: 0-3 years of relevant research or industry experience in cell biology, molecular biology, or related fields. Experience in stem cell work is a plus.
- Publications: Publications in peer-reviewed journals will be considered a bonus.
