Key Responsibilities:
As a vital member of our Process R&D team, your core responsibilities will include:
- Hands-on Synthesis: Execute the developmental synthesis of New Chemical Entities (NCEs), API intermediates, and target molecules on lab and kilo-lab scales.
- Scientific Documentation: Demonstrate excellence in observation, recording, and reporting scientific data with high accuracy. Maintain all experimental data in an Electronic Lab Notebook (ELN).
- Literature Survey: Proactively survey scientific literature and databases for information on specific compounds and synthetic pathways to support project goals.
- Safety-First Approach: Conduct thorough risk assessment by obtaining and scrutinizing Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) for all chemicals prior to experiment design.
- Teamwork & Accountability: Work collaboratively within a team environment, taking full responsibility and ownership of assigned tasks with a high sense of accountability.
- Lab Maintenance: Ensure excellent organization, maintenance, and housekeeping of the laboratory work area, adhering to all safety and operational protocols.
What We Are Looking For (Ideal Candidate Profile):
- A Master’s degree (M.Sc.) in Organic Chemistry or a related field. A Ph.D. is a plus for senior roles.
- 2 to 8 years of hands-on experience in a Process R&D setting within the pharmaceutical industry.
- Strong practical knowledge of modern organic synthesis techniques, reaction monitoring (TLC, HPLC), and purification methods (Column Chromatography, Recrystallization, Distillation).
- Solid understanding of API development processes and scale-up challenges.
- Familiarity with GMP and GLP guidelines is highly desirable.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a keen eye for detail.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
