Key Responsibilities
The selected Research Assistant will be an integral part of our daily laboratory operations. Your core duties will include:
- Processing and handling of human stool samples with the highest standards of biosafety.
- Preparation and encapsulation of FMT capsules for research purposes.
- Performing DNA extraction and quantitative analysis using qPCR techniques.
- Conducting comprehensive microbial testing including aerobic and anaerobic culturing.
- Meticulously following established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and maintaining detailed records.
- Ensuring strict adherence to biosafety level 2 (BSL-2) guidelines and other lab safety protocols.
- Contributing to data analysis, lab maintenance, and inventory management.
Qualifications & Experience
- A Master’s degree (M.Sc) in Microbiology, Biotechnology, Life Sciences, or a closely related field.
- A minimum of 1 year of hands-on experience in a microbiology or biotech laboratory.
- Essential Skills:
- Proven experience with qPCR, microbial culture, and aseptic techniques.
- In-depth knowledge and practical application of biosafety protocols.
- Strong ability to follow and execute SOPs with precision and attention to detail.
- Preferred Skills: Experience with molecular biology techniques, DNA extraction, and data analysis software is a strong advantage.
