Job Description: Research Associate
We are looking for a detail-oriented organic chemist who thrives in a laboratory environment and is eager to tackle complex synthetic challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform multi-step organic synthesis to develop novel compounds and processes.
- Utilize advanced purification techniques (e.g., chromatography, distillation, recrystallization) to isolate and characterize products.
- Apply knowledge of reaction mechanisms to troubleshoot and optimize reaction conditions for improved yield, purity, and sustainability.
- Operate a variety of analytical techniques including TLC, HPLC, NMR, and IR for reaction monitoring and compound characterization.
- Contribute to the scale-up of reactions from gram-scale (bench) to kilogram-scale (pilot plant), gaining invaluable experience in process chemistry.
- Maintain accurate and detailed laboratory records (ELN).
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to achieve project milestones.
Desired Qualification & Experience
- Qualification: M.Sc. in Organic Chemistry.
- Experience: 1-2 years of hands-on experience in a synthetic organic chemistry laboratory (academic or industrial).
- Technical Skills: Proven expertise in multi-step synthesis & purification techniques is essential.
- Analytical Mindset: Strong ability to troubleshoot reactions and a keen interest in process development.
- Analytical Knowledge: Practical knowledge of TLC, HPLC, NMR, and IR is required.
