Job Description: Technical Assistant at JNCASR
JNCASR is seeking a Technical Assistant to operate advanced microscopy equipment, including LSM super-resolution and Ultra High Digital Microscopy systems. The role involves managing imaging workflows, training researchers, and maintaining microscopy facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain LSM super-resolution and ultra-high digital microscopes.
- Perform fluorescence microscopy, laser scanning confocal microscopy, and super-resolution microscopy (e.g., Airy scan).
- Acquire images of diverse samples such as bacteria, 3D cultures, and tissue samples.
- Conduct photo manipulation techniques including FRET and FRAP.
- Perform live cell imaging and high-throughput image analysis.
- Build image analysis pipelines for batch processing and puncta counting.
- Train researchers and students from academia and industry on microscopy techniques and software.
- Maintain detailed logs and reports on equipment usage and maintenance.
- Work independently or with minimal supervision in a team environment.
Essential Qualifications
- Master’s degree or equivalent in a relevant scientific discipline.
Desirable Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in advanced microscopy techniques.
- Practical knowledge of image acquisition software.
- Expertise in image analysis software and pipeline development.
- Experience working in a core imaging facility.
- Strong communication skills for training and reporting.
- Ability to adapt to new imaging technologies and work collaboratively.
Remuneration
- Salary: ₹28,000 per month + 30% House Rent Allowance (HRA).
