Medical Information Specialist Job Description
As a Medical Information Specialist at Viatris, you will play a crucial role in providing technical and scientific support by responding to unsolicited medical inquiries. This position involves researching, creating, and updating Global Scientific Response Documents (GSRDs) to ensure accurate, timely, and balanced medical information is delivered to healthcare professionals and customers worldwide.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create, maintain, and review Global Scientific Response Documents and other medical content.
- Conduct in-depth research and analysis of scientific literature, considering local labeling and regulatory requirements.
- Manage escalated medical inquiries and provide peer review for colleagues’ work.
- Deliver accurate responses to internal and external customers within agreed timelines.
- Collaborate with global teams to share best practices and customer insights.
- Support medical information training and act as a subject matter expert for assigned products and therapeutic areas.
- Lead product sub-teams and global medical information projects.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory policies and GxP requirements.
- Utilize CRM/CMS platforms and analytics tools for data management.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy, Medical, Life Sciences, or related field (Master’s or PhD preferred).
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in Medical Information and Medical Writing within the pharmaceutical industry.
- Strong understanding of compliance, regulatory policies, and GxP requirements.
- Experience with adverse event reporting and pharmacovigilance.
- Proficient in data management systems and analytics.
- Advanced English proficiency.
- Ability to analyze complex scientific data and collaborate cross-functionally.
