Job Description: Executive Coder/Quality Auditor
As a crucial member of our medical coding team, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of medical coding data. Your expertise will directly impact the revenue cycle and compliance for our healthcare clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform accurate and efficient coding of medical records for various specialties using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS Level II coding systems.
- Conduct thorough quality audits of coded charts to ensure compliance with official coding guidelines, payer policies, and regulatory standards.
- Identify and resolve coding discrepancies, denials, and claim edits.
- Maintain a high standard of coding accuracy and productivity to meet departmental goals.
- Stay updated with the latest changes in coding regulations and guidelines.
- Collaborate with the billing and audit teams to ensure a seamless revenue cycle.
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
- Mandatory Certification: AAPC (CPC, COC, etc.) or AHIMA (CCA, CCS, etc.) certification is a non-negotiable requirement.
- Experience: 1.5 years to 4+ years of hands-on experience in medical coding within an RCM or healthcare setting.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in coding systems (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS) and a good understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Analytical Mindset: Keen attention to detail and strong analytical skills to audit complex medical records.
- Shift Flexibility: Willingness to work in day or night shifts as per business requirements.
