Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Biology Specialist to join our team as an Associate Team Lead (Senior Executive/Assistant Manager Level) in our R&D facility at Shamirpet, Hyderabad. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and executing small molecule screening assays, working closely with stakeholders from medicinal chemistry, ADME, in vivo biologists, and project management teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop in vitro biochemical or cell-based assays, including optimization and validation, using 96 and 384 assay formats and readouts, to enable screening of new chemical entities (NCEs).
- Perform in vitro assays using various readouts, such as absorbance, fluorescence, fluorescence polarization (FP), time-resolved fluorescence resonance energy transfer (TR-FRET), homogeneous time-resolved fluorescence (HTRF), chemiluminescence, etc.
- Utilize equipment such as JESS, Novocyte/flow cytometers, Incucyte, Envision, Luminex, and other plate readers.
- Familiarity with western blotting (WB), enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA), fluorescence-activated cell sorting (FACS), and basic molecular biology techniques.
- Perform mechanism of action (MoA) assays for oncology, immuno-oncology (IO), and inflammation using cell lines and/or primary cells, with in vivo disease samples or primary human peripheral blood mononuclear cell (PBMC)-derived immune cell subsets in co-culture assays for PD marker identification.
- Basic molecular biology skills, including cloning and cell line generation, protein estimation by WB and QC, are desirable but not mandatory.
- Experience in performing screening assays for proteolysis-targeting chimera (PROTACS): western blot degradation assays, nano-bioluminescence resonance energy transfer (Nano-BRET), ternary complex formation.
- Conduct routine literature surveys and stay up-to-date on scientific advances related to projects to identify areas of improvement.
- Collaborate with project stakeholders from the scientific and support staff to ensure smooth project progress and milestone achievements.
- Prepare technical and scientific presentations for weekly and biweekly meetings on project updates and future directions.
- Manage client expectations with timely delivery of high-quality data and effective communication skills.
- Maintain meticulous data documentation using electronic laboratory notebooks (eLNBs), compile data, and communicate results to clients with critical interpretation and recommendations.
Requirements:
- MSc/M. Pharm (Pharmacology) or PhD + post-doctoral experience in life sciences/biochemistry/biotechnology/immunology from a reputable organization.
- 9+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry or 2-5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry with a PhD + post-doctoral experience.
