Key Responsibilities – HCC Medical Coder
- Perform accurate HCC (Hierarchical Condition Category) medical coding using ICD-10-CM guidelines
- Review medical records to identify and abstract relevant diagnoses
- Ensure compliance with CMS risk adjustment and documentation standards
- Apply strong knowledge of Anatomy & Physiology and medical terminology
- Maintain productivity and quality benchmarks as per Cotiviti standards
- Collaborate with internal quality and audit teams to resolve coding discrepancies
- Adhere to updated ICD guidelines and coding policies
Eligibility & Qualifications
- Education: Any Life Science Graduate (B.Pharm, M.Pharm, BSc, MSc, etc.)
- Experience: Minimum 1+ year of hands-on experience in HCC medical coding
- Certification:
- Active AAPC or AHIMA certification (mandatory)
- CRC (Certified Risk Adjustment Coder) preferred
- Strong knowledge of:
- Anatomy & Physiology
- Medical Terminology
- ICD-10-CM and HCC guidelines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
