Clinical Research Intern – Job Description
The selected Clinical Research Intern in Chennai will help coordinate participants throughout longitudinal clinical studies. The role involves working with patients, physicians, laboratories, logistics partners and the internal research team.
The intern will contribute to accurate clinical data collection, participant follow-ups, specimen coordination and research documentation while working in accordance with applicable Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and IRB requirements.
Key Responsibilities
1. Participant Coordination
- Schedule and follow up on CGM setup appointments.
- Coordinate laboratory tests and stool sample collection.
- Schedule virtual consultations with physicians.
- Explain app usage and study procedures to participants.
- Provide ongoing support and follow-up to study participants.
2. Clinical Research Data Management
- Monitor data generated by wearable CGM devices.
- Collect information from study-related mobile applications.
- Enter participant information accurately into study databases and CRFs.
- Validate collected research data.
- Identify and report data inconsistencies and protocol deviations.
3. Participant Communication
- Serve as a communication link between participants, physicians, laboratories and research teams.
- Maintain regular and empathetic communication with participants.
- Help participants understand technical procedures in simple language.
- Address participant concerns and encourage study adherence.
4. Laboratory & Sample Coordination
- Coordinate specimen collection and shipment.
- Track samples sent to third-party laboratories.
- Support laboratory logistics and biospecimen handling.
- Maintain appropriate records related to sample movement.
5. Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain accurate participant records.
- Assist with participant information sheets and informed consent documentation.
