Position
Patent Search Senior Analyst
The selected candidate will support clients with patent-related research and decision-making across different stages of IP lifecycle management.
Responsibilities
- Conduct patent searches for Patentability, Validity, Invalidity, State of the Art (SoA), Freedom-to-Operate (FTO), and Patent Analytics services.
- Perform searches across patent and non-patent literature.
- Conduct qualitative technical analysis of patents and non-patent literature.
- Identify relevant prior art based on project scope and develop comprehensive search strategies.
- Understand technical nuances in patent and non-patent literature and identify distinctions from prior art.
- Prepare high-quality deliverables and perform self-review.
- Communicate and collaborate with customers on individual projects.
- Meet internal deadlines and customer project requirements.
- Build knowledge of IP, patent, and non-patent literature databases through training and knowledge-sharing sessions.
- Continuously update technical skills and subject-matter expertise.
- Contribute to team KPIs and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Complete Project Insight tasks accurately and on time.
- Follow organizational policies and procedures.
Eligibility / Qualifications
Candidates should have:
- A Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in a scientific, technical, or related field.
- At least 2 years of IP service experience.
- Intermediate knowledge of US, European, and/or other jurisdiction patent law.

- M.Sc in Chemistry / Pharma / Chemical
- M.Tech in Chemistry / Pharma / Chemical
- M.E. in Chemistry / Pharma / Chemical
- Ph.D. in Chemistry / Pharma / Chemical
Required Skills
- Expert-level use of patent and non-patent literature search databases.
- Proficiency in MS Word and MS Excel.
- Ability to perform patent searches across different levels of complexity.
- Technical analysis of patents and non-patent literature.
- Ability to understand technical nuances and distinguish relevant prior art.
- Ability to develop thorough search strategies.
- Customer communication and collaboration skills.
Additional skills in Microsoft Excel, including chart/graph generation, data handling, VBA, and Power BI, would be advantageous.
