About the Role
The position involves leading the Microbiology department for a sterile injectable plant, focusing on aseptic operations, contamination control, and regulatory readiness. Candidates with a strong command of sterile microbiology, USFDA/EU-GMP compliance, and microbial quality systems are highly encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all functions of the Microbiology Department for sterile injectable manufacturing.
- Oversee environmental monitoring, cleanroom validation, and water system monitoring.
- Ensure 100% compliance with USFDA, EU-GMP, WHO, and other global regulatory standards.
- Manage sterility testing, endotoxin testing, microbial limits testing, and microbiological trending.
- Handle media fill validation, aseptic process simulation, and contamination investigations.
- Review & approve SOPs, protocols, and validation reports.
- Support and lead regulatory audits, inspections, and compliance improvement programs.
- Drive continuous improvement in microbiological controls, aseptic practices, and QMS.
- Train, mentor, and develop microbiology team members.
- Ensure robust CAPA and risk management practices.
Required Qualifications
- M.Sc. (Microbiology)
- 15 to 18 years of experience in sterile injectable microbiology
- Strong knowledge of aseptic manufacturing, cleanroom behavior, and sterile technique
- Demonstrated expertise in regulatory compliance and audit handling
- Excellent leadership, team management, and cross-functional coordination skills
- Sound understanding of QMS, CAPA, and risk management principles
