Job Overview
As a Regional Medical Advisor (RMA) based in Mumbai or Ahmedabad, you will play a pivotal role in advancing AstraZeneca’s mission by engaging in clinical and scientific exchanges with healthcare professionals (HCPs), key external experts (KEEs), and other stakeholders. This role is critical in driving scientific expertise, fostering strategic relationships, and delivering patient-centric solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Scientific Expertise
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of disease state management, AstraZeneca products, emerging therapies, and the competitive landscape.
- Contribute to the development and execution of the Field Medical Strategic Plan (FMSP).
- Serve as a subject matter expert for internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide training and mentorship within the therapeutic area.
Scientific Exchange
- Engage in peer-to-peer scientific dialogue with HCPs and KEEs to deliver balanced clinical information.
- Respond to unsolicited inquiries and provide accurate, evidence-based information about AstraZeneca products.
- Organize and facilitate scientific events such as advisory boards, symposiums, and meet-the-professor sessions.
- Collaborate with KEEs on study proposals, publications, and data generation activities.
Customer Insight
- Gather, analyze, and report insights from the external scientific and medical environment.
- Provide actionable recommendations to internal stakeholders to inform medical and product strategies.
- Identify gaps in the patient journey and collaborate with stakeholders to address them.
Strategic Relationships
- Build and maintain peer-level relationships with HCPs, KEEs, and non-traditional stakeholders (e.g., policymakers, patient advocacy groups).
- Support clinical research activities, including investigator-sponsored studies.
- Establish partnerships to drive scalable and sustainable solutions for healthcare access gaps.
Compliance and Innovation
- Leverage digital tools and technology to enhance scientific exchange and patient-centric solutions.
- Ensure adherence to pharmacovigilance, GxP principles, and ethical interaction policies.
- Stay updated on local regulations and AstraZeneca’s global standards.
Education, Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
- Doctoral degree in a scientific discipline (e.g., M.D., Ph.D., Pharm.D.).
- Experience in the pharmaceutical industry, clinical research, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of therapeutic area disease states and treatment landscapes.
- Proven ability to engage with KEEs and drive scientific initiatives.
- Knowledge of pharmacovigilance, GCP, and regulatory requirements.
