The Centre for DNA Fingerprinting and Diagnostics (CDFD), located in Hyderabad, is a prestigious research institute under the Biotechnology Research and Innovation Council, Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India. Established to provide services in DNA fingerprinting, genetic disorder diagnosis, and cutting-edge biological research, CDFD is now seeking talented life sciences professionals to join their team as Consultants.
Job Responsibilities
As a Consultant (Science Communication & Content Creator) at CDFD, your role will revolve around enhancing the institute’s communication efforts. Your key responsibilities include:
- Content Creation: Contributing to various forms of content related to CDFD activities, including writing and editing articles, preparing short summaries, and producing videos to showcase the research work of the institute.
- Science Communication: Interacting with internal and external scientists to highlight ongoing research and its impact.
- Collaboration with Media: Working with external agencies and professionals for content development, including writing, illustration, videos, and documentaries.
- Social Media Management: Handling CDFD’s social media accounts, including Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube, to engage a diverse audience.
- Press Releases: Drafting and distributing press releases to keep the public informed about the institute’s breakthroughs.
Essential Qualifications and Skills
To be eligible for the Consultant position at CDFD, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Educational Qualification: A B.Sc. or B.Tech in Life Sciences with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, or an M.Sc. or M.Tech in Life Sciences with at least 1 year of relevant experience.
- Experience: A proven track record of experience in content creation, science communication, or a related field will be highly valued.
- Skills:
- Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in using social media platforms for professional purposes.
- Ability to create engaging and accurate content for diverse audiences.
- Experience in working with external agencies or professionals in the creation of multimedia content such as videos and documentaries.

Consultancy Fee and Other Details
- Salary: Rs. 50,000 to Rs. 60,000 per month, depending on qualifications and experience.
- Age Limit: Not more than 45 years.
- Tenure: Initially for 12 months, with the possibility of extension based on performance and project requirements.
