🧩 Key Responsibilities
As a Consultant Editor, you’ll be the first point of contact for newly submitted manuscripts. Your role involves:
- Conducting initial editorial checks for compliance with journal scope and policies.
- Reviewing clinical trial submissions for registration and ethical approvals.
- Assessing manuscripts for English language clarity and scientific coherence.
- Identifying redundant or duplicate publications (salami-slicing detection).
- Suggesting more suitable journals when applicable.
- Ensuring adherence to best practices in medical research and publication ethics.
- Collaborating with peer review teams and managing tasks independently.
🎓 Qualifications & Skills
Education:
- M.Pharm or M.Sc/Ph.D. in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, or related fields
- MPH, MPT, MHA, MMS, or other equivalent healthcare degrees also considered
Skills & Experience:
- 0–2 years of experience in scientific publishing or peer review services
- Strong command of English communication and grammar
- Knowledge of clinical trial guidelines and ethics
- Ability to manage multiple manuscripts with precision
- Prior publication record or editorial experience preferred
