🧾 Roles & Responsibilities
As a Product Development Scientist – VMS, you will be responsible for:
- Executing formulation development activities for vitamins, minerals, and nutraceutical products
- Developing lab-scale prototypes, standardizing formulations for commercialization
- Conducting pilot and plant-scale trials, process validation, and technology transfer
- Supporting scale-up and optimization of manufacturing processes
- Performing wet-mix simulations and analyzing ingredient behavior
- Coordinating with flavor houses for sensory-optimized product development
- Ensuring QbD (Quality by Design) and “Right First Time” execution
- Preparing and reviewing R&D documentation, specifications, protocols, and reports
- Maintaining QA compliance across the end-to-end product development lifecycle
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams for new product introductions
🎯 Critical Skills & Expertise Required
- Strong knowledge of FSSAI regulations, BIS norms, Codex, EFSA, USFDA
- Hands-on experience in VMS formulation development
- Expertise in Capsules, Soft Gels, Tablets, Chewables, Powders, Liquids
- Understanding of spray drying, FBD, FBP, granulation, dry mixing, encapsulation
- Proficiency in sensory evaluation, CPT models, and shelf-life studies
- Ability to create raw material specifications as per IP, BP, USP, FCC & FSSAI
- Experience in structured NPD and project management frameworks
🎓 Educational Qualifications
- M.Pharm / Food Technology
- 6–10 years of experience in Nutraceutical / VMS Product Development
- Proven exposure to scale-up, tech transfer, and commercialization
