Job Description: Research Scientist – Formulation R&D
DRILS is seeking a highly skilled Research Scientist to join its Formulation R&D team. The candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing novel drug delivery systems while ensuring timely project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop Liposomal, Nano/Microparticle, and Polymer-based Drug Delivery Systems.
- Conduct hypothesis-driven research and troubleshoot formulation challenges.
- Utilize advanced analytical techniques (HPLC, UPLC, DLS, TEM, SEM, FTIR, DSC, etc.) for characterization.
- Work on sustained/controlled release formulations (implants, depots).
- Optimize downstream processes (ultrafiltration, TFF) for nanoparticle purification.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate research into scalable formulations.
- Maintain detailed documentation and present findings in technical reports/presentations.
Educational Qualification & Experience:
Essential Requirements:
- Ph.D. (Pharmaceutical Sciences/Chemistry/Biochemistry/Relevant Engineering) + 1+ years of industrial experience in Formulation R&D (Pharma Industry)
OR - M.Pharm/M.Sc (Pharmaceutical Sciences/Chemistry/Biochemistry/Relevant Engineering) + 3+ years of industrial experience in Formulation R&D (Pharma Industry)
Preferred Skills & Experience:
✔ Lipid & Polymer-based Drug Delivery (Liposomes, LNPs, Polymeric Nanoparticles)
✔ Microfluidics for Nanoparticle Synthesis
✔ Peptide/Protein Formulation & Stability Studies
✔ In Vitro/In Vivo Evaluation of Drug Delivery Systems
✔ Biophysical & Analytical Characterization Techniques (DLS, TEM, SEM, HPLC, FTIR, DSC)
✔ Nucleic Acid Quantification (RiboGreen, NanoDrop)
