Key Responsibilities
As a Drug Safety Physician, you’ll play a vital role in pharmacovigilance activities, focusing on patient safety. Your duties will include:
- Conducting medical reviews of Individual Case Safety Reports (ICSRs) and literature articles in the safety database.
- Providing medical review support for aggregate reports such as Periodic Adverse Drug Experience Reports (PADERs) and Periodic Benefit-Risk Evaluation Reports (PBRERs).
- Reviewing safety data from clinical trials, including adverse events, concomitant medications, and lab investigations.
- Evaluating medical coding of safety data and crafting Clinical Study Report (CSR) safety narratives.
- Assessing information from medical information management systems.
- Staying updated with MedDRA, WHO-DD, and training pharmacovigilance team members.
- Participating in audits and regulatory inspections alongside Quality Assurance (QA).
- Collaborating with pharmacovigilance colleagues for consistent adverse event assessments.
- Ensuring compliance with regulations and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for safety reporting.
- Identifying and managing potential safety issues effectively.
- Mentoring and training internal safety staff, including case processing teams.
Qualifications
To qualify for this Drug Safety Physician position, candidates should meet the following criteria:
- MBBS or MD in Pharmacology.
- 0-2 years of experience in pharmacovigilance or related fields.
