In DLF Phase 3, block U, two people were arrested for allegedly cheating young job seekers by offering positions in pharmaceutical companies.
The Scammers, Prasoon Tiwari from Shanti Nagar, Bihar, and Divya Srivastava from Gonda, Uttar Pradesh, posted fake job postings on social media. Under the cover of verification fees, they took money from applicants.
From the suspects, the police found a cell phone, SIM card, ATM card, and Rs 1 lakh in cash. According to ACP (Cyber) Priyanshu Diwan, both men were taken into custody on October 17 with technical assistance.
Sections 318(4) and 3(5) of the BNS have been used to lodge a case at the Cyber Crime East Police Station.
ACP Diwan warned the people about these types of scams. “Gangs are fooling people by offering fake job options and asking for verification fees,” he stated.
Before making any payments, he recommended job searchers to double-check adverts. The ACP went on to say that “honest companies never charge money for verification during recruitment.”
