The National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences (NIMHANS), a premier institute in India, is renowned for its excellence in patient care, research, and training in mental health and neurosciences. NIMHANS is currently inviting applications for the position of Project Research Scientist-1 (Non-Medical) on a contractual basis. About the Role:
The position is part of an Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) funded project titled “Optimal versus standard cerebral perfusion pressure targets for the management of severe traumatic brain injury- A randomised controlled clinical trial (OPT-STAND- CPP trial).” The project is led by Dr. Suparna Bharadwaj, Additional Professor of Neuroanaesthesia and Neurocritical Care at NIMHANS.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in conducting clinical research.
- Recruit patients, obtain consent, and conduct follow-up assessments.
- Collect, maintain, and analyze study-related data.
- Perform data entry and ensure accurate documentation.
- Complete other tasks as assigned by the Principal Investigator (PI) or Co-PI.
Educational Qualifications and Experience:
- Essential:
- Master’s degree in Neurosciences, Life Sciences, Nursing, Anaesthesia Technology, Bioinformatics, Biotechnology, or related fields.
- Minimum of one year of experience in clinical research at a reputed institution.
- Proficiency in English, Kannada, and Hindi (both written and spoken).
- Desirable:
- Candidates who have cleared NET/GATE.
- Prior experience working in operation theatres or Intensive Care Units (ICU).
- Interest in pursuing a PhD under the Department of Neuroanesthesia and Neurocritical Care.
Age Limit:
The maximum age limit for applicants is 35 years.
Salary and Benefits:
- Emoluments: Rs. 56,000 per month + 27% HRA.
- Duration: The project is for 3 years, with an initial appointment of 6 months (extendable based on performance).
