SynSmart is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Organic Chemist to join our dynamic team in Navi Mumbai. As a Senior Research Associate, you will play a pivotal role in our drug discovery projects, delivering novel chemical entities that have the potential to become life-saving therapeutics.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a PhD or MSc Organic Chemistry professional with over six years of hands-on experience to advance their career in a collaborative and innovative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Synthesis & Delivery: Execute the synthesis, purification, and characterization of novel chemical entities, delivering small to large quantities for critical drug discovery programs.
- Analytical Expertise: Utilize and interpret a variety of analytical techniques including NMR spectroscopy, IR spectroscopy, and Mass Spectrometry to characterize intermediates and final compounds.
- Project Collaboration: Work collaboratively within a cross-functional chemistry team to drive projects forward, ensuring they meet timelines and exceed partner expectations.
- Documentation & Presentation: Prepare, review, and present detailed weekly progress updates and scientific presentations to team members and stakeholders.
- Safety Compliance: Maintain a strong culture of safety in the workplace, adhering to all safety protocols and ensuring compliance across the team.
Desired Candidate Profile
Educational Qualification:
- MSc or Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from a recognized university.
Experience:
- A minimum of 6+ years of hands-on experience in organic synthesis, preferably within a pharmaceutical R&D or contract research organization (CRO) setting.
Required Skills:
- Excellent knowledge of fundamental Organic Chemistry principles and reactions.
- Proven hands-on experience in multi-step synthesis, purification (flash chromatography, recrystallization, etc.), and compound characterization.
- Strong analytical skills with a good understanding of NMR, IR, and Mass Spectrometry data.
- Effective communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to present complex data clearly.
- Proficiency in using MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for documentation and presentation purposes.
