Responsibilities in the Job
As a Project Research Scientist-I, you will work on the development and evaluation of a circular mRNA vaccine formulation against Hepatitis C under the guidance of Dr. Milan Surjit. Your key responsibilities include:
- Conducting recombinant DNA technology experiments like cloning, in vitro transcription, and heterologous protein expression.
- Purification techniques such as western blotting.
- Mammalian cell culture and experimentation with mouse models.
- Performing ELISA, FACS, and other related assays.
- Maintaining accurate experimental records and reports.
- Managing procurement of materials required for the project.
Qualifications
Essential Qualification:
- First Class Postgraduate Degree in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Immunology, or allied subjects from a recognized university.
- OR Second Class Postgraduate Degree with a Ph.D. in the above disciplines from a recognized university.
Desirable Skills:
- Hands-on experience in molecular biology, protein expression, and immunological techniques.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Skills
To excel in this role, you need:
- Expertise in laboratory techniques such as ELISA, FACS, and mammalian cell culture.
- Proficiency in handling experimental animals.
- Knowledge of recombinant DNA technology and related tools.
