Job Description: IP DRG Medical Coder
We are seeking detail-oriented and certified IP DRG Medical Coders with proven experience. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately assigning diagnostic and procedural codes for inpatient encounters using ICD-10-CM, PCS, and other standard coding systems following the DRG reimbursement methodology.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze inpatient medical records to determine accurate DRG assignment.
- Assign ICD-10-CM diagnosis codes and ICD-10-PCS procedure codes.
- Ensure coding compliance with federal regulations, official coding guidelines, and client-specific policies.
- Utilize encoder and grouper software efficiently.
- Abstract required data into the designated system.
- Resolve coding-related edits and denials.
- Maintain a high standard of coding accuracy and productivity.
- For QA roles: Perform audits, provide feedback, and ensure quality standards are met.
Eligibility & Requirements
To be considered for these medical coding jobs, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Designation: Medical Coder / Senior Medical Coder / QA (Quality Analyst)
- Specialty: Must have strong experience in IP DRG Medical Coding.
- Experience: 1 to 6 years of hands-on experience in inpatient DRG coding.
- Certification: CPC, CCS, or other relevant coding certification is highly preferred.
- Skills: In-depth knowledge of ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, DRGs, and medical terminology.
- Work Mode: This is an on-site position.
