Detailed Job Description & Requirements
1. Position: HCC Coder
- Experience Required: Minimum 6 months (0.6 years) to 3 years of hands-on experience in HCC (Hierarchical Condition Category) coding.
- Certification: Any professional medical coding certification (e.g., CPC, CCS, CRC) is mandatory.
- Key Skills:
- Profound knowledge of HCC medical coding guidelines and methodologies.
- Proficiency in reviewing medical records to identify and assign accurate ICD-10-CM codes for risk adjustment models (RA, HHS, CMS).
- Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
- Attention to detail and a high accuracy rate.
2. Position: HCC Quality Assurance (QA) Analyst
- Experience Required: Minimum 2 years of solid experience in HCC coding is essential.
- Certification: Any professional medical coding certification (e.g., CPC, CCS, CRC) is mandatory.
- Key Skills:
- All the skills required for an HCC Coder, plus:
- Experience in conducting quality audits of coded medical records.
- Ability to provide constructive feedback and education to coders to improve accuracy.
- Expertise in ensuring compliance with all relevant coding guidelines and regulations.
For both roles, excellent analytical skills and the ability to work efficiently are crucial.
