The JRF position is part of an ambitious project titled “Fiber Reinforced Poly (L-lactic acid) for the Fabrication of Bioabsorbable, and Antibiotic Surgical Staples for Wound Closing.”
Job Responsibilities
The selected candidate will:
- Assist in the fabrication of degradable surgical staples using advanced materials.
- Perform in-vitro and in-vivo evaluations of the fabricated materials as per ISO standards.
- Participate in designing and conducting experiments, compiling data, and preparing technical reports.
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary research team.
Qualifications
To qualify for the position, you must have:
- M.Tech/M.S.(Pharm)/M.Pharm/M.Sc in fields such as Pharmacy, Medical Devices, Biomedical Engineering, Materials Science, Nanotechnology, Physics, Chemistry, Biotechnology, or an equivalent discipline.
- A minimum of 60% marks in your degree.
- A valid GPAT/NET/GATE qualification.
Desired Skills
- Prior experience in biomaterials synthesis.
- Expertise in mechanical and biological characterization techniques.
- Familiarity with working on funded projects is an added advantage.
Age Limit
The upper age limit is 28 years, with relaxations available for SC/ST/OBC/Women/PWD candidates as per Government of India rules.
Salary
The position offers a monthly salary of ₹37,000/- plus admissible House Rent Allowance (HRA).
Contract Terms
- The position is purely contractual for 12 months and may be extended for another year based on performance or project requirements.
- The fellowship is subject to satisfactory performance reviews.
- The candidate will not be eligible for a permanent position at NIPER Kolkata based on this engagement.
