BRIC-National Institute of Immunology (NII), New Delhi, invites eligible candidates for a Senior Research Fellow (SRF) or Junior Research Fellow (JRF) position on a project funded by the Department of Biotechnology (DBT). Key Responsibilities
The selected candidate will:
- Design and synthesize small molecules based on carbohydrates, amino acids, and their non-canonical analogues.
- Conduct multi-step and multi-gram scale synthesis using regio-selective protection/deprotection methodologies.
- Perform purification using column chromatography and characterization through advanced techniques such as NMR spectroscopy (1D and 2D) and mass spectrometry.
Qualifications
For Senior Research Fellow (SRF):
- Educational Background: M.Sc in Chemistry/Organic Chemistry or M.Pharm in Pharmaceutical Chemistry.
- Experience: Minimum two years of research experience.
For Junior Research Fellow (JRF):
- Educational Background: M.Sc in Chemistry/Organic Chemistry or M.Pharm in Pharmaceutical Chemistry.
- Additional Requirement: Must have qualified any National Level Examination.
Desired Skills
- Proficiency in gram-scale organic synthesis and protection-deprotection methodologies.
- Hands-on experience with purification techniques, particularly column chromatography.
- Expertise in analyzing and interpreting data from NMR spectroscopy (1D and 2D) and mass spectrometry.
- Fresh M.Sc graduates with enthusiasm for research are encouraged to apply.
Duration and Compensation
- Duration: Six months (extendable based on project requirements).
- Emoluments:
- SRF: ₹42,000 per month + 27% HRA.
- JRF: ₹37,000 per month + 27% HRA.
