Job Purpose & Key Responsibilities
As a Literature Specialist-Intern, you will support the Central Safety Department (CSD) in literature screening activities for pharmacovigilance (PV) and signal detection. Your key responsibilities include:
- Screening and reviewing scientific literature (articles, abstracts, citations) to identify Individual Case Safety Reports (ICSRs).
- Triaging literature search results to detect safety information related to GSK’s marketed and developmental products.
- Supporting Safety Evaluation and Risk Management (SERM) specialists by identifying relevant safety data.
- Ensuring compliance with PV regulations and GSK’s standard operating procedures.
- Assisting in timely deliverables for signal detection and periodic safety reports.
Qualifications & Skills Required
Education:
- Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences (Biology, Chemistry, Pharmacy, Medicine, or related fields).
- Preferred: Pharmacy, Medical, or Pharmacology degrees.
Experience:
- 0–2 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry (drug safety, regulatory affairs, clinical development, or medical affairs is a plus).
- Familiarity with pharmacovigilance regulations and methodologies.
Key Competencies:
- Strong scientific literature review and data interpretation skills.
- Excellent English communication (written & verbal) with proficiency in medical terminology.
- High attention to detail and ability to work in a matrix environment.
- Proficiency in web-based applications and IT tools.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work flexibly.
