Currently, IBAB is offering an exciting opportunity for a Junior Research Fellow (JRF) under the project titled “Understanding Amino Acid Dependent Regulation of Epigenetic Circuitry and Its Impact in Aging.” This project is funded by the Anusandhan National Research Foundation and runs from October 2024 to October 2027.

Job Responsibilities: As a Junior Research Fellow at IBAB, the selected candidate will undertake a range of research activities, including:

  1. Conducting molecular biology experiments such as PCR, RT-PCR, transformation, cloning, microscopy, and FACS analysis.
  2. Working with microbial culture maintenance and performing RNA-seq and ChIP-seq experiments.
  3. Engaging in biochemical assays to study amino acid-dependent regulation of epigenetics in aging.
  4. Analyzing genomic data using R programming and bioinformatics tools.
  5. Maintaining accurate lab records and data, ensuring effective team collaboration and prioritizing tasks.
  6. The position involves both wet-lab and dry-lab work, with an emphasis on learning genomics and genomic data analysis.

Qualifications: Applicants must meet the following qualifications to be eligible for the Junior Research Fellow position:

  1. A four-year Bachelor’s Degree or a Master’s Degree (M.Sc. or equivalent) in Life Sciences, Bioinformatics, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Genetics, or a related subject, with at least 60% marks or 6.50 CGPA from a recognized university.
  2. Candidates must have qualified a National Eligibility Test (CSIR-UGC-NET including Lectureship, Assistant Professorship), GATE, or a selection process through Central Government Departments and their Agencies/Institutions.
  3. Prior experience in molecular biology techniques such as PCR, RT-PCR, transformation, cloning, microscopy, and FACS.
  4. Experience working with microbial culture maintenance, RNA-seq, ChIP-seq experiments, and biochemical assays.
  5. Strong hands-on experience in genomic data analysis and R programming.
  6. The candidate should be detail-oriented, able to maintain accurate lab records, and possess good organizational skills.

Skills Required:

  1. Expertise in basic molecular biology techniques, including PCR, RT-PCR, and cloning.
