ICGEB Recruitment For Bioinformatics or Life Sciences Students

The International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (ICGEB), New Delhi, has announced exciting project-based job openings in the Parasite Cell Biology Group. These roles are under a research project financed by the Department of Biotechnology (DBT) and the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India. Responsibilities in Job

ICGEB is hiring for various project positions under its Parasite Cell Biology Group. The responsibilities for each position are outlined below:

Post I: Senior Research Fellow

  • Role: The Senior Research Fellow will primarily carry out the analysis of Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) and proteomics data from clinical samples. This role demands strong expertise in bioinformatics tools and techniques to interpret complex biological data.

Post II: Project Associate-1 (NGS & Proteomics)

  • Role: Project Associate-1 will focus on the analysis of NGS and proteomics data derived from clinical samples. This role requires an in-depth understanding of bioinformatics and molecular biology techniques, as well as hands-on experience with NGS platforms and proteomics technologies.

Post III: Project Associate-1 (Molecular & Immunological Studies)

  • Role: The Project Associate-1 for this position will be responsible for conducting molecular and immunological studies using clinical samples. This role requires knowledge of immunology, and molecular biology, and experience in handling and processing clinical samples.

Qualification

The minimum qualifications required for each of the project positions are as follows:

Post I: Senior Research Fellow

  • Educational Qualification: Master’s degree in Bioinformatics or Life Sciences (or equivalent)
  • Experience: 2 years of research experience in bioinformatics and infectious diseases
  • Additional Requirement: NET/GATE qualified
  • Desired Skills: Expertise in NGS and proteomics data analysis

Post II: Project Associate-1 (NGS & Proteomics)

  • Educational Qualification: Master’s degree in Bioinformatics or Life Sciences (or equivalent)
  • Desired Skills: Experience in NGS and proteomics data analysis

Post III: Project Associate-1 (Molecular & Immunological Studies)

  • Educational Qualification: Master’s degree in Life Sciences (or equivalent)
  • Desired Skills: Experience in handling and processing clinical samples

Skills Required

Candidates applying for these positions should possess the following essential skills:

  • Bioinformatics: Strong foundation in bioinformatics, including NGS data analysis, proteomics, and other molecular biology techniques.
  • Experience with Clinical Samples: Practical experience in processing and analyzing clinical samples, especially for Post III.
