Key Responsibilities
The selected candidate will support genetics and molecular biology research related to diabetes.
- Conduct research projects focusing on the genetic and molecular biological aspects of diabetes.
- Recruit and enrol patients according to study inclusion and exclusion criteria.
- Collect biological samples and data for collaborative research projects.
- Maintain research data for internal and community-based studies.
- Track long-term patient follow-ups for ongoing studies.
- Perform wet-lab activities under the supervisor’s guidance.
- Assist in identifying research topics and designing new studies within the Genetics Department.
- Coordinate with clinical teams and other research departments.
- Assist senior researchers with data summarisation, analysis, organisation, and manuscript preparation.
- Support the preparation of research proposals for external funding.
- Prepare basic reagents and glassware according to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Maintain equipment records, sample storage logs, registers, files, and research documentation.
- Monitor equipment working conditions and report faults to the relevant maintenance, biomedical engineering, or IT department.
- Attend Research Review Committee (RRC) meetings and submit periodic and daily work reports.
- Maintain the confidentiality and safe custody of research data and documents.
Eligibility and Qualifications

- Postgraduate qualification: MS/M.Sc. in Biotechnology.
