Job Description: Medical Writer
Cactus Communications is looking for a skilled Medical Writer with expertise in oncology and clinical research to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in scientific writing, medical communications, and pharmaceutical research, particularly in gastric cancer publications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop high-quality scientific, medical, and educational materials, including:
- Manuscripts, abstracts, posters, and slide decks
- Medical Information Letters (MILs) and Standard Response Letters (SRLs)
- Infographics, interactive assets, and digital medical content
- Literature reviews and congress materials
- Collaborate with pharmaceutical clients, healthcare professionals (HCPs), and key opinion leaders (KOLs) to create engaging and accurate medical content.
- Ensure all materials comply with client SOPs, style guides, and regulatory requirements.
- Work closely with scientific leads and client directors to develop innovative medical communication strategies.
- Attend client meetings, workshops, and training sessions to enhance skills and contribute to organizational goals.
- Conduct literature searches, data analysis, and biostatistical evaluations to support scientific content development.
Eligibility Criteria
Education & Experience:
- Ph.D/MD (Pharmacology), Ph.D (Life Sciences), or Pharm.D
- 1-3 years of experience in medical writing, scientific communications, or pharmaceutical research
- Strong background in oncology (preferably gastric cancer publications)
- Experience in publication writing, medical information documents, and HCP engagement content
Skills Required:
- Excellent scientific writing & editing skills
- Ability to adapt writing style for different audiences (HCPs, researchers, patients)
- Strong understanding of clinical research & biostatistics
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
- Good communication & client management skills
