Job Description: Medical Coder (SDS)
Key Responsibilities:
- Assign accurate ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes for Same-Day Surgery (SDS) procedures.
- Review medical records, operative reports, and physician notes for precise coding.
- Ensure compliance with CMS, HIPAA, and payer-specific guidelines.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to resolve coding discrepancies.
- Optimize revenue cycle management (RCM) by reducing claim denials.
- Stay updated with latest coding regulations and industry changes.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Certification: CPC, CCS, COC, or CIC (AAPC/AHIMA) mandatory.
- Experience: 1+ years in SDS, ASC, General Surgery, or Ambulatory Surgical Coding.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and coding guidelines.
- Proficiency in ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS Level II coding systems.
- Excellent analytical skills & attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced RCM environment.
