Job Responsibilities

As a Pharmacopoeial Scientist, your responsibilities will include:

1. Handling & Storage of Microbial Reference Cultures:
   • Safekeeping and maintaining microbial reference cultures in the Microbiology Division.
2. Genotypic Sequencing:
   • Performing sequencing and analysis of microbial reference cultures.
3. Research Activities:
   • Conducting research on microbial reference cultures in collaboration with similar organizations.
4. Isolation, Purification, and Characterization:
   • Identifying and characterizing new microbial reference cultures for inclusion in the Indian Pharmacopoeia.
5. Instrument Handling:
   • Operating advanced analytical instruments such as Gene Sequencers, PCR Machines, Gel Electrophoresis, Gel Documentation Systems, and Lyophilizers.

Required Qualifications

Applicants must meet the following qualifications:

1. Essential Educational Qualifications:
   • Ph.D. in Molecular Biology/Genomics or equivalent field, OR
   • Master’s Degree in Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Genomics, or equivalent with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
2. Technical Expertise:
   • Hands-on experience with modern analytical instruments including:
     • Gene Sequencing
     • PCR Machines
     • Gel Electrophoresis
     • Gel Documentation Systems
     • Lyophilizers
3. Computer Skills:
   • Proficiency in computer applications.
4. Age Limit:
   • Candidates should not exceed 45 years of age.
