Key Responsibilities
During Training & Certification Phase:
- Complete AHIMA prerequisite courses (Medical Terminology, Anatomy & Physiology, etc.) with a 70%+ passing score.
- Study Cancer Registry Management (CRM) courses (Disease Coding, Staging, Treatment, etc.).
- Pass NCRA’s Practicum assessments and Core Competency exams.
- Maintain daily logs of study progress and assignments.
Post-Certification Role:
- Perform complex oncology data abstraction from medical records.
- Ensure data accuracy (>90% QA compliance) as per project standards.
- Use STORE, AJCC, SEER, and NAACCR guidelines for coding.
- Participate in team meetings, audits, and continuous learning.
- Adhere to HIPAA compliance and data security policies.

- Medicos: BDS, MDS, BAMS, BHMS, BPT, MD
- Non-Medicos: Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Nursing, Pharm-D, Bioinformatics
