Job Details
1. Scientific Officer (Direct Recruitment – 04 Posts)
- Pay Scale: ₹56,100 – ₹1,77,500 (Level-10, 7th CPC)
- Age Limit: Up to 35 years (Relaxation as per Govt. norms)
- Essential Qualification:
- PG Degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Pharmacology, Microbiology, or Chemistry (or equivalent).
- 5 years of experience in drug analysis/research.
- Desirable Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in relevant fields.
- Research experience with published papers.
- Computer proficiency.
2. Scientific Officer (Deputation – 03 Posts)
- Pay Scale: ₹56,100 – ₹1,77,500 (Level-10, 7th CPC)
- Age Limit: Up to 56 years (as per DoPT rules)
- Eligibility:
- Central/State Govt. employees with analogous posts OR
- 2+ years in Pay Matrix Level-8 (₹47,600 – ₹1,51,100) OR
- 3+ years in Pay Matrix Level-7 (₹44,900 – ₹1,42,400) OR
- 8+ years in Pay Matrix Level-6 (₹35,400 – ₹1,12,400).
- Essential Qualification & Experience: Same as above.
About Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission (IPC)
The IPC is an autonomous body under the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of India. It is responsible for:
✔ Setting drug standards through the Indian Pharmacopoeia (IP).
✔ Publishing the National Formulary of India (NFI) for generic medicines.
✔ Providing Reference Substances for drug testing.
✔ Serving as the National Coordination Centre (NCC) for:
- Pharmacovigilance Programme of India (PvPI) – Drug safety monitoring.
- Materiovigilance Programme of India (MvPI) – Medical device safety.
